From Self-Love to Self-Worth: My Ongoing Journey of Healing

I’m going through a tough time—one that has challenged everything I believed about self-love. For the longest time, I thought self-love was enough. But on this journey of deep transformation, especially through coaching and personal growth, I’ve come to realize that self-love alone isn’t always the magic answer we hope it will be.

Like many others, I grew up with the basics: food on the table and a roof over my head. That was what was expected, and that was what was given. In my era, doing chores was seen as the elders’ responsibility, and anything I did was not necessarily acknowledged or appreciated. I followed that mindset too. I did my best to take care of my family, putting aside my own ambitions and needs, hoping—maybe even expecting—that someone would see, appreciate, and love me for it.

But that appreciation never really came. Instead, my efforts were seen as my duty. I became “the responsible one,” especially after my sister was married off at 21. I was only 11 then, but I was already expected to step up—to be the adult, to lose my childhood. It was the norm in those days, and in a world where emotional awareness wasn’t common, most people didn’t even know what they were missing.

For a long time, I felt alone in my path. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not here to blame anyone. I used to. But now, I’m learning to accept that my parents only did what they were taught. They passed down the beliefs they knew. And now, it’s up to me to break the cycle.

Because I’m racing against time, my breakthrough journey has had to be intense. That made it a hundred times harder. I went from disappointment, to anger, and now... to acceptance. I’m learning to see all of this as part of my growth. I used to do what I thought I had to, just to avoid punishment or to be seen as the “good girl,” the one who honored her family. But without love within, I went looking for it outside—and that only left me feeling more empty.

Can you relate to that?

Now, I’m shifting. From self-love to self-worth. I’m picking up the pieces of myself. I’m learning to forgive myself for carrying burdens that were never mine to begin with. I’m setting boundaries that feel right for me—not based on fear or guilt, but on respect and value.

I’m sharing this because I know I’m not alone. And if my journey can bring even a little bit of light to someone else’s path, then it’s worth it.

In my program, Let’s Talk, Be Heard with Peggy Ang @ 91deas, I combine Bazi (Chinese metaphysics), coaching, oracle work, and even BaZi drawing to help others reconnect with their true selves and step into their worth. Achieving Sustainable Success Requires Constant Vigilance

Success is not easily attained - it is often the result of a long, arduous journey filled with challenges and setbacks. As the saying goes, "Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."

What makes achieving sustainable success difficult is maintaining a constant state of vigilance and dedication. As the founder of Weightrack India Pvt. Ltd. noted, "His story is one of determination, vision, and an unwavering belief in possibilities. It is a journey that reaffirms the power of passion and perseverance."

Perseverance and focus are key to overcoming obstacles and reaching one's goals. As the Aquarius horoscope states, "Your determination is stronger than any obstacle. You are closer to your dreams than ever, so keep pushing forward without hesitation! Your perseverance and focus will lead you to success!"

Maintaining this level of commitment and resilience is what separates those who achieve lasting success from those who falter. As Mary Kom, the global icon of strength and determination, shared, "Women possess incredible strength, and are capable of breaking barriers to achieve their dreams and in the process achieve extraordinary things. There is a need for today's women to believe in themselves and their own capabilities and continue pushing forward, undeterred by challenges."

The journey to sustainable success is not an easy one, but with passion, perseverance, and a willingness to adapt, it is a path that can be navigated. By staying focused, embracing challenges, and continuously striving for improvement, one can turn their vision into reality and build a lasting legacy.
