Transformation - the inner dialogue
Transformation Is Not About Becoming Someone New. It Is About Coming Home.
Most people chase transformation.
We imagine it will rescue us from our current circumstances and somehow give us a brand-new life. We attend workshops, read books, follow influencers, and search for the next breakthrough, hoping that one day we will become a "better version" of ourselves.
Let's be honest.
Much of what the world sells as transformation is wrapped in beautiful marketing. Everything is presented as brighter, stronger, happier, and more successful. It feels exciting because it promises a new identity.
But what if transformation was never about becoming someone new?
The dictionary describes transformation as a complete and fundamental change in appearance, form, nature, or character. We often picture a butterfly emerging from a cocoon—something entirely different from what came before.
Yet when I reflect on my own journey, I see transformation differently.
From a mindset perspective, transformation is not about replacing yourself. It is about learning, adapting, questioning old beliefs, and becoming aware of the patterns that were quietly shaping your life without your permission.
From the perspective of the body, mind, and soul, transformation is even deeper. It is not simply physical improvement or positive thinking. It is a process of returning to harmony within yourself.
So perhaps the real question is not:
"How do I transform?"
Perhaps the better question is:
"Where is transformation inviting me to return?"
Transformation Begins with Awareness
People often ask how transformation happens.
The truth is, there is no single formula.
Sometimes life forces us into change through loss, disappointment, or hardship.
Sometimes an awakening quietly grows until we can no longer ignore it.
Sometimes transformation simply unfolds without us even noticing.
Whatever the reason, it arrives when we are ready to see something we could not see before.
For me, transformation always begins with awareness.
Awareness allows reality to step into the light.
Only when we become aware can we begin to realise what has been quietly directing our lives.
Realisation is the doorway.
Awareness is the first step.
Together, they invite transformation.
My Reflection Through Oracle Cards
While writing this article, I decided to draw three Oracle cards. Looking back, I realise they beautifully reflected different chapters of my life.
Past — Potential
Think big for your future.
I used to dream big.
Not because I wanted to become more of myself.
But because I wanted to become someone worthy of recognition.
The outside world occupied almost every part of my identity.
Deep inside, I believed that being myself was never enough.
I believed I had to prove my value.
I wore masks so naturally that eventually they became my daily identity.
From the outside, people saw achievement.
Inside, I felt an emptiness that no success could fill.
I moved from relationship to relationship.
I helped companies grow while slowly losing direction in my own life.
Looking back now, I wasn't truly living.
I was surviving.
Almost like a walking zombie.
Present — Intuition
Trust your intuition.
Today people often tell me,
"Peggy, you've made it."
Perhaps I have.
I worked hard for everything I have.
But achievement alone could never fill the emptiness.
I searched for connection in friendships.
I attended gathering after gathering.
Sometimes I escaped through alcohol, only to wake up feeling even emptier.
Eventually, one simple truth found me.
The person who cared most about me was me.
The person who had abandoned me...
was also me.
That realisation changed everything.
Instead of searching outside, I began going inward.
I sat with my pain instead of running from it.
I allowed myself to feel my emotions instead of suppressing them.
I stopped trying to become someone else.
I began listening to myself.
That was when Inner Dialogue became my daily practice.
My Three Levels of Inner Dialogue
Level One — Awareness
What am I feeling right now?
No judgement.
Simply notice.
Level Two — Conversation
What is this feeling trying to tell me?
Curiosity creates clarity.
Instead of reacting immediately, I pause and explore what my inner world is asking me to understand.
Level Three — Alignment
What choice reflects who I truly am?
This is where awareness becomes action.
Transformation is not complete until our actions begin reflecting the clarity we have discovered.
The more I practise these three levels, the more natural they become.
The pause becomes shorter.
The clarity becomes deeper.
The response becomes more authentic.
I still don't know exactly what tomorrow will bring.
There are no guarantees.
But I trust my intuition far more than I trust my fear.
Future — Confrontation
Choose your battles wisely.
Wisdom is not about fighting every battle.
It is about knowing which conversations deserve your energy.
Today, when my intuition whispers, I listen.
I no longer dismiss it.
I understand that my future is something I create through the choices I make today.
Some outcomes will delight me.
Some will disappoint me.
Either way, they become part of my learning.
Not every loss is truly a loss.
Not every gain is truly a victory.
Coming Home
Not everyone understands my transformation.
Some of my siblings believe I have become irresponsible because I no longer contribute the way I once did.
Perhaps they remember the old Peggy.
The Peggy who lived for everyone else.
For many years, I gave my energy, my time, and my life to meeting other people's expectations.
Now I choose differently.
Not because I love them less.
But because I finally choose not to abandon myself.
There is nothing to argue about.
Their journey belongs to them.
Mine belongs to me.
Today I simply choose to live with greater awareness, deeper honesty, and full responsibility for my own life.
That is enough.
My Definition of Transformation
Transformation is not about becoming someone new.
It is about coming home to yourself.
It is remembering who you were before fear, expectations, guilt, and the opinions of others became louder than your own voice.
So if life feels heavy today, don't begin by asking,
"Who should I become?"
Instead, ask yourself,
"Who am I beneath everything I've been trying to be?"
Perhaps the journey you've been searching for has never been about becoming.
Perhaps it has always been about remembering.
