Awakening Your Worth: What Is Your Past Teaching You?
If today is your first time dropping into my page, you may wonder what I'm talking about.
Is it spirituality?
Is it something intangible?
Is it something difficult to understand?
Actually, I hope not.
My journey has taken me through many different topics over the years—from Mastering Your Destiny, to abundance, to coaching, NLP, metaphysics and many other experiences. Every stage taught me something. But eventually, I found a place where I feel completely at home.
That place is Awakening Your Worth.
I'm Peggy Ang, an Inner Dialogue Coach, and I help people trust the wisdom of their own voice.
Not my voice.
Not society's voice.
Their own.
Why I Changed My Live Sessions
When I first started going live, I chose the evening because I thought it was the best time for everyone.
Ironically, many of us—including myself—became so mentally awake after those conversations that sleep became difficult.
That made me reflect.
Instead of talking late into the night, I now separate my sessions into two different spaces.
The 9 a.m. room is simply a place to arrive.
Before work.
Before meetings.
Before traffic overwhelms you.
Before the world starts telling you who you need to be.
I invite people to sit with themselves for a few moments.
To thank themselves.
To notice how they are feeling.
To begin an inner dialogue.
The 5 p.m. Friday session is different.
It is where we reflect, share experiences, ask questions and learn together.
We Are Already Having Inner Dialogue
Whether we realise it or not, every one of us is already talking to ourselves.
Some people call it the unconscious mind.
Some call it the inner child.
I simply call it Inner Dialogue.
The conversation is already happening.
The question is whether we are listening.
Over time, I found myself returning to three simple questions.
1. Awareness
What am I feeling right now?
Not what someone else did.
Not who is wrong.
Just...
What am I feeling?
2. Conversation
Why is this feeling here?
Many times, today's emotion has roots in yesterday's experiences.
A simple comment in a meeting can awaken memories from ten or twenty years ago.
The present isn't always creating the emotion.
Sometimes it is revealing something that has been quietly waiting to be understood.
3. Alignment
Now that I understand this... what is the next step?
Notice I didn't ask,
"Who should I blame?"
I asked,
"What is the solution?"
That one question has changed many conversations in my own life.
Measure Yourself Against Yourself
People often compare themselves with everyone else.
Who earns more?
Who looks younger?
Who has more followers?
Who is more successful?
It reminds me of standing on a weighing scale.
If I weigh 75kg and someone else weighs 86kg, does that tell me anything meaningful about my own health?
Of course not.
The only meaningful comparison is with the last measurement of myself.
Growth isn't about becoming somebody else.
Growth is becoming more aware than I was yesterday.
The Labels We Carry
Our lives are full of labels.
Chinese.
Female.
Mother.
Boss.
Teacher.
Daughter.
Society gives us many names.
People also give us many tags.
Smart.
Stubborn.
Kind.
Difficult.
Successful.
Failure.
The problem isn't that labels exist.
The problem begins when we believe the label is our identity.
Our worth doesn't come from the title.
It comes from the qualities that exist underneath the title.
I don't become valuable because I am called a mother.
I become valuable because I choose to love, nurture, care and grow.
Those qualities remain wherever I go.
Learning to Let Go
For almost five years, I have been learning what it means to let go.
Only in the last six months did something finally shift.
Letting go stopped feeling like losing.
It started feeling like freedom.
People often think that if you become softer, people will step on you.
Surprisingly, I found the opposite.
When I became clearer about my boundaries, I didn't need to fight as much.
I knew what I wanted.
I knew how to say no kindly.
I no longer needed to prove myself.
The Past Is Not Here to Punish You
Many people tell stories about the past coming back to haunt us.
I see it differently.
The past is always with us because our memories are always with us.
The question is...
What is the past teaching me today?
There was an incident many years ago involving one of my staff and a road accident.
At that time, I refused to take sides because I hadn't witnessed what happened.
Only recently, during my own inner dialogue, did I realise why.
I value clarity.
That experience wasn't haunting me.
It was still teaching me.
Our past doesn't always need correcting.
Sometimes it simply needs understanding.
Awakening Your Worth
People often ask me,
"What is worth?"
To me, worth is not your title.
Not your achievements.
Not your failures.
Not the labels other people place on you.
Worth is what remains when all those labels are removed.
When you know your worth, you stop needing to prove yourself.
You become less interested in winning arguments.
You become more interested in finding solutions.
You stop asking,
"What will people think about me?"
Instead, you begin asking,
"What is true for me?"
That is where Inner Dialogue begins.
A Reflection For You
Before I ended today's live, I left everyone with one simple question.
I would like to leave the same question here.
Looking at your past...
What is it teaching you?
Sit with that question.
Journal about it.
Bring it into your own inner dialogue.
You may be surprised by the answers that have been quietly waiting for you all along.
